Linde Battery

The Linde Battery, a former artillery platform surrounded by defensive walls at the eastern end of Veste Oberhaus, offers a unique view of the confluence of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz. The natural spectacle of the three differently-coloured rivers can be admired to full advantage from beneath the old lime (Linde) trees at the edge of the Battery. You can also see the spectacular panorama of Passau with St Stephen's Cathedral, Mariahilf Monastery, the Town Hall and the historical old town, all the way to Austria and the foothills of the Bavarian Forest.
